Since visualization of transformation system pathways are a focus of Blue Marble Evaluation, we are convening a series of scoping meeting to discuss the potential launch of a global Transformations Systems Mapping & Analysis Working Group. We envision this to be a highly engaged working group composed of people willing to contribute time and energy toward building the field of “seeing” transformations systems.
As background, this is an ambitious attempt to merge interests from three working groups (SDG Transformations-Forum, Regenerative Communities Network and the Blue Marble Evaluation Network - with more networks expected). These three scoping meeting and associated small group work will help to launch the working group in April (we hope) with a clear set of guiding principles, access to information and a general strategy. One potential early product of the working group, once it is launched, is the co-production of a map of the global networks working on large scale systems change as a first product of the working group.
A first scoping session was held on January 3rd with a focus on people in the Americas interested in this and we had 22 participants from 9 countries.
The next scoping session will be for people in Australasia/New Zealand. The time for the scoping meeting will be Friday February 14th at 10am AEDT (UTC+11). If you are interested in learning more about participating please send a note to Glenn Page and he will send you a formal Invite.
A scoping meeting for people in Europe and Africa is planned for mid February or early March - again, please contact Glenn if you are interested in being part of that scoping session.
